Metro Line 4 in Thane: where things stand for Majiwada buyers

Metro Line 4, which runs from Wadala to Kasarvadavali along the Eastern Express Highway and Ghodbunder Road, has a station at the Majiwada junction. The Thane section, from Kasarvadavali to Cadbury Junction, is the first part of the line planned to open, with the stretch towards Mumbai following later.
For Majiwada, the station sits at the junction itself, a short walk from most of the towers along the highway and the start of Ghodbunder Road. Once the line runs through to Wadala, it gives the area a rail link to central Mumbai that does not depend on Thane station.
Work on the Thane stretch has been visible at the junction for some time, with the elevated viaduct and station structure in place. The opening of passenger service depends on safety approvals, and no firm date has been announced at the time of writing.
What this means for buyers in Majiwada
- Homes within a 10-minute walk of the Majiwada station are the ones to watch once service starts.
- Until trains run, don't pay a "metro premium" on a promise — compare with what similar flats sold for last year.
- Expect construction barricades at the junction to ease after the opening.
